Delete your Waves account and data
You can erase your Waves account and everything our servers hold about it at any time, from inside the app. It takes a few seconds and does not require contacting us.
How to delete
- Open Waves and go to Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete my account and data.
- Confirm with Delete everything.
If you no longer have the app, install it again, choose Settings → Account → I have a recovery code, enter your code, and then follow the steps above.
What is deleted
- Your contractions, sessions and other entries, on the device and on our servers.
- Every connection you created, including the copy of your timeline shared with the people you invited. They lose access immediately.
- Your place on connections other people shared with you.
- The encrypted backup of names and notes, your notification token, and any complimentary access.
- Any location you are sharing. (Shared locations also delete themselves within 3 hours.)
- The record that you agreed to the Clinical Terms, if you used Waves professionally.
- Your account itself. Your recovery code stops working.
What is kept
- A record that a promo code or a one-time legacy upgrade was used, so it cannot be used twice. It holds a random identifier and a date, and nothing that identifies you.
- If you bought Waves Pro as a gift: the record that the purchase already made its gift code, so it can't make a second one. Your account identifier is removed from it.
- Help messages you sent us. They are stored without anything that links them to your account, so we cannot pick yours out. We delete them once they are handled.
- An agreement a practice signed with us on our website, such as a Business Associate Agreement. It is a business record under the practice's name and is not linked to any app account.
- Purchase records held by Apple or Google under your store account. We do not control those.
Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Subscriptions
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Why we can't delete it for you by email
Waves never collects your name, email address or phone number, so we have no way to tell which data belongs to the person writing to us. That is why deletion happens inside the app, where your device proves it is you. If you are stuck, write to hello@theorian.com and we will help.
